HAMAD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Doha, Qatar / 2014

Hamad International Airport is one of the most prestigious projects realised by Antonio Citterio Patricia Veil, both for its 50.000 square metres extension and its intrinsic complexity. In this context find their perfect location 8 water features and multiple green walls that enrich and complete such an impressive architectural project.

The interiors of the lounges, designed for Qatar Airways’ Premium Passengers, provide a micro-city inside the megastructure of a terminal — a multi-functional, multi-cultural, and inclusive place of transit.

Referring to the unique local culture as well as future travel tendencies, it creates a sense of belonging through contemporary architectural solutions, aiming for a welcoming and comfortable design. Opened in May 2014, the airport and its lounges are destinations in their own right, providing unforgettable sensory and cultural experiences. The interior design of Qatar Airways lounges is defined by solid materials—etched, decorated, and texturized with the intention of evoking senses and subtly referencing the brand’s identity.
